A girl receives an email from a school-mate who died. She gets into a kind of internet called The Wired, and visually stylish, obscurantist, sub-Dickian shenanigans ensue.
This show has been extremely overrated by young people who imagine themselves to be “deep”. Lain isn’t hard to understand because it’s so artistic and intellectual, it’s hard to understand (and watch) because it’s pretentious nonsense.
