Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team

I can’t believe some have called this the best-ever Gundam series. Overlooking the dated graphics and lame sound design, the characterisation is the big problem. These characters are among the flattest stereotypes I’ve ever seen, and the drama is awfully cliched. It may pay lipservice to the Real Robot genre, but there is nothing realistic about this anime. I suspect by the time I finish watching, my rating will have dropped a couple of notches further.
