Last Exile

Worth watching. The plot’s a bit too complicated to describe here, but it’s an alternate world, with remote territories separated by a zone of fierce winds (where this zone is actually located is not adequately explained). There are airships of various sizes, dogfights and airship battles, at least one princess, and a good helping of angst for our plucky teenage hero and heroine, and their various dashing acquaintances.

Mostly awesome, like a series made from all the best elements of Miyazaki’s movies, but the plotting flounders in the second half, and the ending is a mystical/non-explanatory cop-out.
