Kurogane Communication

Kurogane Communication is a great show to watch if you enjoy disappointment – that’s probably the best way to summarise it.
The premise is great – a girl in a post-apocalytic world whose only friends are the robots who woke her from cryo-stasis. Can’t you just imagine that being a good show, or even a classic?
Unfortunately, it was bungled by a mediocre director and producer.
The show has a cheap “TV” look, but, more than that, the backgrounds and character designs are really mediocre and unappealing, and the directing is crude and uninteresting. The OP/ED are nice and sweet in a kawaii kind of way, but are wasted in this show.
The script is okay, some good moments along with the usual cliches, but could have been lifted up if someone with a good visual and dramatic sense (like Akitaro Daichi – Fruits Basket, Jubei Chan) had directed.
What I’d really like is for someone to buy the rights and remake this show, because the concept has such great potential. It’s not likely to happen, I know, but waiting for that would be a better use of your time than watching this show.
